Moses is our fire king!. We cook outside and usually Moses is the one manning the fire. He blows on the coals and they come alive! Even away from the fire, he lights up the place with his contagious smile. However those first few months after Moses joined our family in October 2004 were horrible. Moses constantly cursed 24/7. Many times he ran back to his mama who had attempted to kill him with a machete’. If there had been any other place for him, we would have gladly surrendered custody. However we were committed to providing a safe place for him. . One day his mouth was so vulgar that we tried reasoning with him but Moses would not listen and attempted to run away again. However this time Mike caught him. Moses kicked, and screamed but Mike just held him tight. Finally after almost an hour Moses started crying like a baby and Mike begun rocking him. The war was over!!
